THE CIVILIAN AIR AMBULANCE WAS NOT CAPABLE OF FLYING DUE TO HIGH WINDS IN TOKSOOK BAY. THE ARMY GUARD IN BETHEL WAS TASKED AND TRANSPORTED THE PATIENT IN STABLE CONDITION USING THE LSTAT. THE PATIENT WAS TRANSPORTED FROM TOOKSOK BAY TO BETHEL. 1 SAVE WAS AWARDED.

IMS Hosts Army Technical Interchange Meeting - A Technical Interchange Meeting was conducted with the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research and the Medical Research Materiel Command. This meeting was an opportunity to re-baseline program milestones in the aftermath of the successful Army milestone decision in April as well as discuss LSTAT enhancement priorities for the next phases of development and broader deployment. Congressional Demonstration - At the request of Congress, the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research conducted a one-day LSTAT exhibit and demonstration for members of Congress, their staff, and the public. June 2001.

LSTAT system demonstrated to senior international military medical community at the 107th Association of Military Surgeons of the United States (AMSUS) conference in Las Vegas, Nevada, November 6 - 8, 2000. The demonstration included wireless transmission of data from two LSTAT systems in separate locations. October 2000 LSTAT system applications to draw-over anesthesia demonstrated at the annual American Society of Anesthesiologists meeting, October 16-18, San Francisco, California. October 2000 University of Utah completes first phase of human-use operational studies of the LSTAT patient platform in civilian hospital applications. October 2000 IMS welcomes new Subject Matter Expert panel member, Dr. Neil Halpern, Chief of Critical Care, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. October 2000 U.S. Army Central Command (CENTCOM) has formally requested - and the U.S. Army Medical Research Materiel Command has approved - LSTAT system operational use in the Middle East for the purpose of LSTAT platform evaluations.
September 2000 LSTAT system presentations and demonstrations delivered at Advanced Technology Applications to Combat Casualty Care (ATACCC) conference, September 24-28, Ft. Walton Beach, Florida. The LSTAT was flown in on a U.S. Army Aeromedical Research Laboratory UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter.
September 2000 LSTAT system selected as one of eight Finalists in the annual, international "Innovations in Communications" award sponsored by the prominent advertising firm, Saatchi & Saatchi. The award recognizes achievements in beneficial communications among the largest number of people, and LSTAT was recognized for its continuous, real-time, multi-device, multi-parameter, time-synchronized patient data collection, storage and communications capability.
September 2000 LSTAT system has completed all testing to support airworthiness release, and is awaiting final U.S. Army fleet-wide approval for rotor-wing aircraft.

August 2000 National Guard Association of the United States (NGAUS) approves resolution calling for procurement of LSTAT systems for use by the Guard. The resolution reads in part: "It is the recommendation of NGAUS that the National Guard Bureau, the Department of the Army, the Department of Defense, and the Congress of the United States support procurement of the LSTAT to provide the best life support system for National Guard units to operate as part of the total force concept and to include funding in the fiscal year 2002 defense budget."

November 1999 Multiple LSTATs support Pacific Warrior 99(Hawaii).
November 1999 Three LSTATs participate in the joint service Pacific Warrior 1999 medical exercise led by Tripler Army Medical Center, Hawaii. The exercise included multiple elective surgeries performed aboard LSTAT, and included operational use in field exercises. LSTAT provided patients continuous care throughout pre-op, intra-op, and post-op phases, bringing the total number of such surgeries to nearly 30. LSTAT leveraged extensive use of its wireless data management system.
November 1999 The U.S. Army awards IMS additional funding for the build of 4 additional LSTAT units.

March 1999 Web and wireless-based patient data demonstration at a human use U.S. Army exercise. Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington D.C. Real-time secured patient data was available over the internet during the exercise.
November/December 1998 LSTAT appears in NATO exercises. The Cooperative Adventure Exchange 98 (CAE98) exercise covered 18 countries that represent over 3.2 million military personnel.

July 29, 1998 Northrop Grumman Announces LSTAT Product Clearance. The Bloomberg "Movers and Shakers'" Page reported after the close of the market on July 29th: "Northrop Grumman Corporation. (NOC) rose as much as 1 1/8 to 82 1/8 after the aerospace and defense company won U.S. Food and Drug Administration approval for its LSTAT Trauma System. The LSTAT provides a number of medical-care devices, including instruments to monitor heart and breathing rates, packaged in a stretcher-type platform five inches thick, so a patient can be stabilized on a battlefield or other trauma site before being transported."
