The U.S Department of Commerce has granted export clearance for the MedEx 1000 "suitcase ICU", clearing the way for international sales of this revolutionary medical capability.

Integrated Medical Systems, Inc., a medical technology systems integrator developing fully integrated products for critical care, announced today that it has received 510(k) clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to market its MedEx 1000 "suitcase" intensive care unit (ICU).

The LSTAT patient care platform was employed in the May 2008 A&E Networks mini-series "Andromeda Strain". The LSTATs were equipped with isolation canopies, and used to move infected patients from the field to the laboratory. The Andromeda Strain was the top original movie or miniseries on cable this year to date, according to A&E executives. IMS is proud to have played a part.
